Welcome Back!

What a night!

HIP celebrated its annual awards banquet on August 16 at the German-American Social Club. We would like to thank all the riders, parents, trainers, and friends that showed support thorough another great year. There were close point races in some divisions, but everyone came out a winner. The banquet also featured a new award, Overall Show Grooming Champion, which was won by Maryann Tatum and Sure Deal. Make sure you are a part of “our party” next year by committing to HIP each month. We will have pictures on the website soon of all the trophies, prizes, and dancing.

Maryann Tatum and horseshow mom of the year Ginger Tatu,

Let’s Do It Again!

The summer is coming to an end and it is time to begin the 6th circuit of Horses In The Park. Last year was fantastic, but we are expecting this year to be one of the best. We will be welcoming many new barns on board including: The British Barn, Winter’s End, Spun Gold, and Ascot Farm. There will also be new divisions offered including: pony hunter, schooling hunter, and modified equitation. Baby crossrail riders will also have a chance to win a medal in the new ,b>Baby Crossrail Equitation Medal O/F. HIP is excited to see what riders will be moving up to new divisions. As usual, we will offer the team challenge, challenge cup finals, and the holiday party. We will also be going to a two-day circuit. This means that points will be awarded for Saturday and Sunday circuits. Therefore, if you show two days, then you will be eligible for two awards. Hopefully you have been practicing this summer because the competition is going to be strong. Let’s do it again and make this the best “party” yet.

Jump The Moon

The 2008 circuit is well under way as we approach our ninth show of the circuit. However, the point race is wide open and riders still have a chance at the top. The next show will be September 20-21 at Plantation Equestrian Center. Our next show will feature our first Marshall & Sterling Child/Adult Jumper Classic. The $1,000 classic will be offered at 3’6.” We will still offer our classics in the Beginning, Hopeful, and Training divisions. Don’t forget the points are available on the website. Also, new on the website is prize money awarded. We will offer a year-end award for most prize money won by a horse. The current leader is Do The Dew ($1,635) ridden by new owner Kaylee Butcher. Best of luck to all everyone.
